60 Minutes September 7 2025 Pre-Empted for MTV Video Music Awards

CBS viewers will need to adjust their Sunday night plans, as the network has announced that its long-running news program “60 Minutes” will be preempted on September 7, 2025. The change is due to CBS airing the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) during the regular timeslot.

The star-studded VMAs broadcast will run from 8:00 to 11:00 PM Eastern Time, or 5:00 to 8:00 PM Pacific Time. Fans can also stream the full event live on Paramount+. The awards show promises performances from top artists, exciting award presentations, and plenty of memorable moments, making it a must-watch for music fans.

Regular viewers of “60 Minutes” will have to wait until the following Sunday for the latest investigative reports and in-depth interviews that the program is known for. Meanwhile, CBS is encouraging audiences to tune in to the VMAs for an evening of live music and entertainment.
