Targeting Americans
The first report of the evening takes a deeper look into a troubling mystery that has affected American diplomats, intelligence officers, and military personnel stationed around the world. In a double-length investigative segment, correspondent Scott Pelley presents new reporting on a classified U.S. mission that reportedly obtained a device believed to be similar to one used in attacks on American officials.
These incidents, widely known as Havana Syndrome, have been linked to a range of neurological symptoms. Victims have reported hearing unusual sounds followed by sudden health problems, including dizziness, headaches, cognitive issues, and long-term brain injuries. The condition first drew public attention after U.S. diplomats stationed in Havana, Cuba, reported similar symptoms beginning in 2016.
Pelley’s reporting explores the existence of a possible microwave-based weapon that sources say may have been used in these incidents. The segment examines how such a device could operate and the implications if it has been deployed against American personnel. It also looks at how U.S. intelligence agencies have tried to determine who might be responsible and whether the attacks represent a coordinated campaign.
The investigation also addresses ongoing debate within the federal government about the true origin of Havana Syndrome. Several studies conducted by government agencies have questioned whether a foreign weapon is responsible, raising the possibility of alternative explanations for the injuries. Through interviews and newly obtained information, 60 Minutes examines the conflicting evidence surrounding the case and what it means for those who continue to suffer from the condition.
The report is produced by Michael Rey and Oriana Zill de Granados for Part One, with Part Two produced by Oriana Zill de Granados and Michael Rey alongside Adam Ciralsky.
Secretary Hegseth
Later in the broadcast, CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett sits down with U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth for a conversation about one of the most pressing international issues facing the United States.
The interview focuses on the state of the ongoing war in Iran and the role of the U.S. military in the region. As tensions continue to shape global politics, the discussion addresses strategic priorities, defense policy decisions, and the challenges facing American forces involved in the conflict.
Garrett’s interview with Hegseth also explores the broader implications of the war, including how it may affect U.S. alliances, regional stability, and future military planning. The segment provides insight into how the Pentagon views the evolving situation and the steps being taken to respond to new developments.
Produced by Andy Court, Andy Bast, and Arden Farhi, the interview offers viewers a rare opportunity to hear directly from the nation’s top defense official about current military strategy and the challenges confronting U.S. defense leadership.
Together, the evening’s reports continue 60 Minutes’ tradition of combining investigative journalism with high-level interviews, providing viewers with a closer look at stories shaping national security and global affairs.

I am so glad to see this information published. I am a retired engineer turned financial analyst and am currently a victim of a very similar or maybe the same weapon. I have experienced a “ heating effect” on random but apparently targeted parts of my body while in my home. Usually all i see is a blue laser type light ( sometimes it’s red)being shone into my home from a home across the street. It happens mostly at night , sometimes the spot heating effect waking me up at night. In separate incidents At other times i have experienced a very blinding headache very much like a thunderbolt hit you. Since headaches are rare in my life, i began to review what i was doing or eating in the preceeding hours. I couldn’t find anything unusual UNTIL I placed a hidden camera pointed at the front door of my home. I soon found out that each time I opened my front door, there appeared to be a very bright flash of very white light pointed at my door. The headaches happened within 1 to 3 hours afterwards. The light is not visible to the naked eye but the camera picked it up as a large bright white light flash. It happened always daytime. I have experienced this approximately 8 to 15 times. I now use a shield over my body to pick up packages on my porch as the last one around February 15, 2026 produced a very terrifying headache. I have filed several police reports about this and other incidents but mysteriously, the police seem to cite “ delusions “ BEFORE even hearing the facts or looking at the videos. The address of the home in my neighborhood where the light clearly comes from is 27618 Cromwell Rd Novi Michigan. That home has been occupied by changing groups of people men and women that appear to be working for someone . I have several videos that i can share.
